Cassia, also known as Avaram, is an evergreen shrub with vivid yellow cup-shaped flowers. Its leaves are used as an herb and bark is used in tanning. Cassia is best planted in the spring and is a moderate to fast grower. It is a hardy outdoor plant in hot climates but can be grown as a container plant indoors in freezing temperatures.
